Reflect on Your Why
Updated: Apr 17
In about a half of an hour I’m heading out the door for boot camp of the personal growth kind. I’m prepared. I’ve made my food for the day. I keep telling myself, "you’ve done this kind of thing before, you know the drill." But I have to admit, the unknown has me a little stressed. I wonder if I’ll like it. I wonder what I’ll miss. I am afraid I'll "get behind" on my work.
Can you relate?
And, at the same time, there’s something in me that is committed to something greater than my personal comfort zone or familiarity. I want to grow, not just for my own soul’s evolution, but because I have a fire inside me to support others and make the world a better place. This is my WHY.
This WHY keeps pushing me to new places.
And, the great thing about today is that no matter what happens, I get to be around other people committed to the same thing. That's going to feel great and reinforce my own commitment.
Please hold me in your prayers. I feel how much better I show up with your love. Thank you!
RIGHT NOW, take a moment to do 2 things:
1) REFLECT on your Why.
Why do you do what you do? Why do you practice yoga, meditate, get coached, stretch beyond where you are now, surf your edges?
2) Change your language from HAVE TO to GET TO.
Change your context from one of being at the effect of life to the joy that it is to be here and get to do all the things that you do everyday. Remember, you don’t have to do anything. You are a sovereign being. You GET TO.
Let me know how that reframe changed your day.
